Job overview

MFR CR is looking for a Compliance Assistant to join our dynamic and international team based in Milan. Flexible working arrangements within the EU may also be considered.

In this role, you will support MFR CR on regulatory compliance matters. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and managing compliance risks, liaising with regulators, and providing internal guidance and training. Tasks and responsibilities

Working closely with the Compliance Officer and other colleagues, the Compliance Assistant will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring compliance with laws, rules, and regulations applicable to MFR CR and the group, and promoting internal compliance culture.
  • Understanding existing and new relevant sector regulations and initiatives.
  • Interacting with regulators (e.g., attending meetings, managing documentation, drafting responses to regulatory requests), as well as with other external stakeholders (e.g., trade associations).
  • Preparing, implementing and periodically reviewing internal policies and procedures.
  • Preparing training materials, and advising staff on compliance matters.
  • Monitoring and identifying potential conflicts of interests or incompliances, defining remedial actions, escalation schemes to appropriate stakeholders, and reporting (including written reports) to the Board of Directors and other internal communications.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Law, or a related field with a strong academic record.
  • General knowledge of the EU regulatory and supervisory framework, with interest in the credit rating sector and its regulation.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • High standards of ethics and integrity, with a proactive, flexible, and diligent approach to work.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills, with keen attention to detail.

Optional requirements (considered an advantage)

  • Knowledge of the European Credit Rating Agencies Regulation (ESMA CRAR).
  • 1–2 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a credit rating environment or in compliance within the financial sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to evolving regulations, and to develop practical approaches to compliance challenges.
